The beginning of our adventures - who is in?

Runners get set.....We, Leslie and Katrina, best friends, are starting this blog to share our adventures with as many as we can. Hopefully, this blog will encourage and motivate some to get out there and create their own racing adventures. It all started with an extreme kickboxing class at a local gym. We ran a couple of local 5k's but what really got us hooked was stair running as part of our cardio workout for class. That's when we really started to see results in our workouts and it became addiction at this point. so we registered for our first stair climb race, The Bop to the Top in Indianapolis. It was 9 minutes of pure torture, but in the end we were proud of ourselves and hooked on finding our next race. At this point, we set a a "team" goal for ourselves to do at least one type of race a month. After all, racing to us was all about hanging out, having fun and free race shirts of course. Well when you think about it, are they really free when you have to pay to run? there were a couple times after picking up our bibs and shirts that we entertained the thought of jumping back in the car and saying we finished since we had already received the shirt! By the end of 2009, we "earned" 15 race shirts from various road races, stair climbs and trail runs. We've traveled short and long distances, missed a few turns here and there, and even into new time zones all while having a little fun in each city we visited.
2010 is going to be a blast, we are upping the ante and pushing ourselves even more by beating our times at some of the last years races, winning our age group in the DINO trail run series, running (and maybe the occasional break out dance session) in the Music City half marathon in Nashville, learning how to read a compass for some adventure racing and pulling each other out of the mud at our first Muddy Buddy race. And if you are wondering, we will not be partaking in any mud wrestling....at least not during the race! If you are ready for some crazy, whacked out adventures keep following us to see where they take us next. We will of course post pictures and blog about each race including all the spandex imaginable! I mean with us, the sky's the limit!
If anyone would like to partake in our adventures or know of something crazy and new, let us know. As always, feel free to find out where we are going next!

Leslie and Katrina
